MARTÍNEZ VILLALBA TRILLOS, IGNACIO / IGNACIO MARTÍNEZ-VILLALBA
In Colombia the influences that came from Art Deco and Functionalism are evident in the monthly magazine Hojas de Cultura Popular Colombiana. The long tradition of the capitulars converges in the history of the printed matter. This edition includes the works of three graphic artists (Francisco Gil Tovar, Rafael Achury y Sergio Trujillo), whose photogravures rest in the chibaletes of the Imprenta Patriótica of the Instituto Caro y Cuervo. All three artists opted for very particular lines of creation. This catalogue also reproduces the work of five invited Colombian artists and typographers: Magdalena Sants Cruz, Viviana Monsalve, Bastarda Type Foudry, Marianna Rezk and César Puertas, whose work reflect the changes of the current topographic design.
